{the reading room}

While on my hiatus from work I really wanted to focus on turning the office into a reading room. As a family of laptops (and the new iPad I just surprised Ben with for his birthday), we've realized that we really don't use the office anymore.

It was time for a make-over: library style, and while it's still a work in progress, I wanted to share the awesome new bookcases we put in this past week.

Those numbered red dogs in vintage drawers are Cooper's favorite toy as he has destroyed them over the last year. Each tag has a little story about the life of the dog. Before you think he's such a good boy for only killing three, there are more of these stored away. He's a stinker.

We plan to add a vintage desk in the middle of the room along with a cozy sofa by the window to snuggle up on with a good book. Oh, and in case you were wondering what the room looked like before...

It was quite boring to say the least. I'll share more pictures when we finish the room!

xoxo

  1. I love the idea of a reading room. And your collection of books. Great authors! I need to read some more Anthony Burgess, though.

  10. I love what you did with the room. The idea you had for saving Cooper's toys is so fantastic. I have 3 pups, and I want to do something similar.
